The present ring features a beautiful ruby of intense red, set in cool, shimmering platinum. Four prongs hold the gemstone high above a ring that appears delicate, like lace, yet remains strong and precious. The ring itself, designed with a broad band, is lavishly set with approximately 1.70 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, so that it sparkles with sheer delight. Elegant hand-engraved motifs along the sides reveal new details with every glance. Yet its colour scheme is restrained and sophisticated, limited entirely to white and red. It is this combination of delicacy and strength, of preciousness and restraint, that defines the character of the ring. Presumably for this reason it is named “Callas,” after the goddess of the opera stage, who embodied precisely these qualities — and not least, had a weakness for exquisite jewellery! The ring originates from the goldsmith workshop of the jeweller Fochtmann on Maximilianstraße in Munich. The “Callas” model, set with various coloured stones, continues to be produced there to this day. Our example is supplied with an independent certificate confirming the quality of the materials. The ring is in excellent condition and impresses with its craftsmanship and its appealing colour scheme.
