The work is part of the collection “La Bibliothèque Précieuse” published by Éditions Nilsson. Superb artistic ornamentation including exquisite Laboccetta color plates hors-texte illustrating the famous scenes from the tale (notably the expressive and colorful illustrations of Candide’s universe and Pangloss). Elegant half-red leather binding with corners, smooth spine adorned with gold tooling and the title, boards covered with marbled paper in harmonious tones, matching endpapers and bookmark. Very good external condition. Interior fresh, clean and well preserved with its superb color illustrations. Very fine copy.
