Hardly any other Parisian fashion house has had such a lasting impact on the fusion of fine design and remarkable craftsmanship as Hermès. Since its founding in 1837, the Maison has stood for the highest quality and a design language rooted in the world of equestrian sports. Motifs such as bridles, buckles, and belts evolved over the course of the 20th century into the defining design elements of the jewelry collections and have long been considered classics of French design. The Ceinture bracelet presented here draws on this tradition. Its design is inspired by a sturdy braided belt with a double prong clasp, yet it reinterprets this everyday object in solid sterling silver. The wide, sculpted chain links give the piece of jewellery a powerful presence, while the finely crafted clasp convincingly evokes the impression of a real belt. This sophisticated interplay between function and jewellery is what gives this model its special appeal. Weighing 232 grams, the silver bracelet possesses an extraordinary heft.
