William Oakes work is often mistaken for the work of the Reeves family however the bill & mandible carving as well as the neck seat differ from Reeves decoys. Oakes worked at the famed Long Point Company for a time alongside Reeves family members. Hot branded on bottom twice H.S.M. for Henry Sage Morgan LPC shareholder 1931-1981.
