Zeiss Ikon 2× vouwcamera : Nettar 517/2 6x9 met Novar...

An attractive set of two original Zeiss Ikon folding cameras from different periods, both with their characteristic bellows construction and classic German design. 1. Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/2 – 6×9 The largest and youngest camera of the duo. Equipped with the beautiful Novar-Anastigmat 105mm f/4.5 and a Pronto shutter with speeds up to 1/200 sec. The Nettar 517/2 was built for 120 roll film and makes large 6×9 cm negatives. This model belongs to the post-war Nettar generation; variants with the 105mm f/4.5 Novar are well documented. 2. Zeiss Ikon Ikonette – early folding camera Compact, charming Zeiss Ikon with simple Frontar lens, folding bellows and folding viewfinder. The Ikonette was deliberately designed as a small and easy-to-use rollfilm camera. In a Zeiss Ikon catalog from 1931 it was even praised as a pocket camera; the catalog mentions the Ikonette 504/12 with Frontar lens for 4×6.5 cm on roll film. Therefore sell as vintage collectible cameras in the condition as shown. Trivia: the Nettar was Zeiss Ikon’s relatively affordable mid-format line. With 6×9 cm on 120 film, the Nettar yields only eight frames per roll, but each frame has a negative area that is many times larger than 35mm. The 517/2 series is generally dated to the period 1949–1958."}
