Zenda Original Cast Live Recording Blue Pear Records LP BP 1007

This 12-inch LP vinyl record features the original cast live recording of the 1963 musical Zenda, based on the novel The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope. The production features music by Vernon Duke and lyrics by Leonard Adelson, Sid Kuller, and Martin Charnin. The cast includes Alfred Drake, Anne Rogers, and Chita Rivera. This release by Blue Pear Records, catalog number BP 1007, is a limited collector's edition sourced from a theater sound system recording, as a studio cast album was never produced for this production due to disagreements among the creators. The jacket is designed with a purple background and three green-tinted portraits of the lead actors set within shield-shaped frames. The reverse of the jacket contains extensive liner notes by Niles Marsh, a full tracklist, production credits, and black-and-white photographs from the stage production. The center labels are pink with the Blue Pear Records logo depicting three pears and the printed text Blue Pear Records, Longwood, Florida. Domestic shipping within the U.S. is $12 for a single album. International shipping is also available. Shipping discounts will be applied when multiple records are purchased.
