London Fashion Week: 7 of Britain's most stylish artists

To celebrate London fashion week, Barnebys have picked artists we simply adore, darling, for their personal style. From Grayson Perry's platforms to Hockney's specs, these artists really are Great Britons when it comes to fashion.

Tracey Emin

From her fur coats, trainers and messy 'do, Emin's style screams IDGAF. Often at the frow of London Fashion Week, Tracey's trademark creasing-faced-laugh is her best accessory.

Martin Creed

Creed's nod to retro with flared suits teamed with turtlenecks and 1970s throwback striped polo shirts make him one of Britain's most stylish artists - and he probably doesn't even know it.

Grayson Perry

No lists of stylish artists is complete without Grayson Perry. Perry lives and breathes his art - becoming as sumptuously decorated himself as his vases and tapestries through his alter ego Claire. One of Perry's crowning fashion moments was accepting the Turner Prize as the first ever potter - and man in drag.

Yinka Shonibare

Tartan suits, multi-coloured trainers and big hair - British-Nigerian conceptual artist Yinka Shonibare describes himself as "postcolonial hybrid."

Cornelia Parker

There is something so wonderfully put-together about Parker's style. From her blunt fringe to her perfectly fitted 1960s-inspired dresses, Parker could have been hanging with Celia Birtwell and David Hockney in the Sixties.

David Hockney

hockney

Yorkshire-boy Hockney in his heyday could pass for any hipster painting in their derelict East London studio. Obsessed with the aesthetics of the most stylised people and places of the UK and US, Hockney famously painted his friends designers-to-the-stars husband and wife duo Celia Birtwell and Ossie Clark (and Percy.)

Sarah Lucas

Sarah Lucas produced one of the YBA's most iconic images. Her loafers, ripped jeans and open stance showed the world Lucas was not an artist to be messed with as she shook up the conventions of what it meant to be a man or woman.
