In March, the German auction house Eppli is celebrating its traditional 'best of' auction, with top-class objects in several auctions and different categories.
The auction week begins on 6 March with a 286-lot catalogue that includes jewellery and watches. Here are some of the highlights to look forward to.

This frog brooch, made of silver and yellow gold and the top and bottom of which is set with emeralds and old European cut diamonds, is an exceptionally unique item. The eyes of the sparkling amphibian are made of ruby cabochons.

Another piece made of yellow gold and silver is this charming Art Nouveau brooch. Enamelled leaves and flowers set with diamonds serve as decoration, as well as some cultured pearls that were added later.

This outstanding diamond brooch dates from the 1930s/40s, the stones of which add up to a total of approx. 20 ct. The three-part construction of the brooch makes it possible to wear its 'wings' together or individually.

A real eye-catcher is this Colombian emerald of approx. 6.81 ct in lively green which adorns this important platinum ring. The green stone is surrounded by 14 brilliant-cut diamonds, which together weigh approx. 3.22 ct.

This haute couture necklace from the jeweller Popley from Dubai is a modern dream. 18-carat white gold, 676 diamonds totalling approx. 105 ct and 78 sapphires totalling approx. 115 ct justify a starting price in the six-figure range.

The ruby mines of Mogok, in what is now Myanmar, are said to have been discovered as early as the 13th century. This oval red stone of 2.13 ct, which has no heat treatment whatsoever, comes from there.
Also featured at auction are a selection of wristwatches, which include all the coveted brands for him and her.

This extremely rare and collectable Rolex GMT-Master from the 1970s once adorned the wrist of the Emir of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The dial of the custom-made model is adorned with the coat of arms of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence.

This Patek Philippe Vintage Nautilus with 'Tropical Dial' is also a rare collector's item. The discolouration of the dial caused by environmental influences has created a unique vintage look.

This ladies' wristwatch can also show interesting discolouration on the dial. The Royal Oak Lady by Audemars Piguet is made of stainless steel and has a case diameter of approx. 30 mm.
One week after this auction, the 116 lots of fashion and accessories will be auctioned on 13 March . Here are the top lots from the most coveted brands:

Two of the most legendary handbags come from Hermès: the Kelly and Birkin. On offer is a Kelly Bag 32 Sellier from the 1999 collection made of bright blue Epsom leather.

The quilted pattern of the Double Flap bags by Chanel is no less legendary. A very nice, medium-sized model made of light beige leather and silver hardware is also on offer.

Intertwined initials and stylised flowers create the famous Louis Vuitton monogram pattern. The monogram adorns the Boite Bouteilles Glace cosmetic case on the outside. Inside it has a mirror, a removable compartment and 14 loops for cosmetics.
